Sirdar Sweater Update

Well, I thought I would post an update to the Sirdar sweater that I am knitting.

I completed the back and have now started on the left front. The front is fun cause I get to cable.

Here is a picture of the completed back with the raglan shaping.

Here is a picture of the left front of the sweater with the cable.

Look what came in the mail today

My mom and dad are the BEST!!! Look what they sent me.

My mom made this gorgeous card. the front is a handpainted butterfly and the basketweave was done by her as well.

AND the best part is that she also sent me the instructions on how to make this for myself.

Remember the beyond gorgeous card that my mom made me for Valentines Day (look below for a reminder). Well she sent me the best instructions ever and the punches so that I can TRY to make the card myself.

What an awesome treat. I keep checking the calendar to see if it is my birthday or Christmas.

Thanks Mom and Dad! Love you!

Valentines Day

Wow, this has been an incredible Valentines Day. My hubby surprised me today by calling me at working and asking me to meet him out by the front door. When I get there, he has a basket full of chocolate dipped strawberries from Sherri's Berries. Then I get home and what is waiting for me in a nice UPS pkg. My llama roving. I attempted to try to learn how to spin on one of my new drop spindles. Boy, it is a lot harder than it looks on video. I went to www.icanspin.com and www.joyofhandspinning.com to learn how to spin. These sites have wonderful videos and information.

Here is a picture of my llama roving and attempt at spinning.

Now for the grand finale of the day. My mom sent my kids each a handmade Valentine's Card. She has once again out done herself on the "Oh My God, this is so awesomely cute" meter. Just look for yourself. They are multi-dimesional and beautifully done. What talent. Since she is my mom, I can only hope I inherited at least a smidgen of her talent. These cards are amazing.

Spindles arrived

Yippee!!!!!!!!!

My spindles came today. They are soooo pretty. I want to spin something so terribly bad. I should be getting some fleece in the mail any day now. I just have to keep telling myself to be patient. I was trying to figure out how to store them so that they would not get all mangled and scratched. I finally decided to use a wire clothes hanger and hang it on a hook on the wall. I then hung the spindles from their hook on the straight part of the hanger. Worked perfectly. The spindles are not banging each other and they look pretty as well.

I received a Valentine from my parents yesterday. My parents are currently vacationing in Salome Arizona. They are enjoying retired life.

This Valentine card is handmade by my mom. My mom makes the most incredibly beautiful cards.
Take a look for yourself.

My mom also sent me some of the gorgeous handpainted butterflies that she made.
